Imprint today

I walked the mile or so to my favorite cafe to sit and have coffee in downtown Kirkland, Washington. As I was walking home along the waterfront it had started to rain pretty hard and I didn't have a hood or an umbrella.

As I felt the rain on my face I remembered that a few years ago I was driving along 12th Avenue on Beacon Hill and I saw this little boy of about 10 years old with his school backpack on and he had stretched out his arms and lifted his head up toward the raindrops and was smiling a delighted smile as he slowly turned in a circle. The rain on his face was all that mattered in the world.

Thanks little kid, thanks for that memory.
